In Greene County district court Zein Mohammed Ibrahim, 37, of Harcourt was sentenced April 17 to five years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of stalking- violation of a protective order. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for three years. Ibrahim was fined $1,025 with a $153.75 surcharge; both were suspended. He must pay a $90 domestic abuse, stalking, human trafficking victim surcharge, an amount not to exceed $500 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $1,576.18 court costs. A related case in magistrate court in which Ibrahim was charged with two counts of harassment- third degree was dismissed. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)
Tory Richard Beger, 30, of Grand Junction was sentenced to one year in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated- second offense. All but seven days of the jail time was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He may complete a 96-hour drinking drivers course in lieu of four days of the jail time. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. Beger was fined $1,875 with a $281.25 surcharge. Court costs were $173. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Jordan Lee Khommanyvang, 22, of Rockwell City was granted a deferred judgment after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. He was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year, and he must complete 40 hours of community service. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He must complete a community college drinking drivers school at his own expense. Dillon Lee Schriever, 22, of Greene was sentenced to five years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated- third offense. All but 30 days of the prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for two years. He may serve the jail time in Cerro Gordo County in the work release program. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. Jared Michael Ramold, 33, of Ogden was sentenced to 180 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. All but two days of the jail time was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Greene County sheriff for one year. He may complete the DMACC 48-hour alcohol education program in lieu of the jail time. He must also complete a drinking drivers school. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. Ramold was fined $1,250 with a $187.50 surcharge; one-half will be suspended if he obtains a temporary restricted license. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Jesse Robert Kniffin, 38, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment on a charge of possession with intent to deliver less than 50 kg of marijuana. He was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for two years, and he undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He must pay a $1,025 civil penalty. Two counts of possession with intent to deliver were dismissed. in the same case, Kniffin was granted a deferred judgment on one count of illegal possession of prescription drug. He must pay a $430 civil penalty. One count of illegal possession of prescription drug was dismissed. Kniffin must pay a $430 civil penalty on that count. Court costs were $187.50. A related charge in magistrate court of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. Court costs were $60. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Larry Dean Bush, 59, of Churdan was sentenced to 180 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. All but two days of the jail time was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He may complete the DMACC 48-hour alcohol education program in lieu of two days of the jail time. He was fined $1,250 with a $187.50 surcharge; one-half will be waived if he obtains a temporary restricted license. In the same case, Bush was sentenced to 180 days in jail on a charge of child endangerment. The jail term was suspended. He was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; the fine and surcharge were suspended. Two counts of child endangerment were dismissed. Persons pleaded not guilty to charges as follows: William Poio, 49, of Jefferson, operating while intoxicated; Christa Lynn Bluml, 40, of Glidden, operating while intoxicated; Suanne Elaine Winters, 52, of Bayard, driving while license revoked; Jacob Robert Stewart, 30, of Fort Dodge, assault causing bodily injury or mental illness; and Tracy William McDonald, 47, of Jefferson, theft- third degree (five counts). Trial dates were set for June 18 in every case.
